sand printing

As an extension of the Rock Printing research conducted at the Self-Assembly Lab, this exploration into sand printing resulted in an initial method for constructing rigid, temporary sand structures using natural materials. Relying on the time-old method of Mechanically Stabilized Earth and the concept of Granular Jamming, we explored and refined the process of depositing sand, water, and reinforcing fibers to form the first sand-printed wall.
